I feel some relief going into 2026. I’m not much of a resolutions person, but I certainly have goals and awareness of how I want to keep moving forward in this life.

This seems like a good place to list off things I want to work on and/or continue doing into 2026:

  • Prioritize mental health (my mind would be mush if I didn’t have someone listen to me babble once a week, highly recommend)

  • Stretch in the evening

  • Not needing to work every free moment I have, hard to do when you work partly for yourself

  • Collect new lifers on Merlin

  • Not going too long without some brekkie (eating more nutrition that what a croissant has to offer)

  • Listen to my gut if I feel unsure about something

  • Strive for peace in my day to day routine

  • Not be afraid to say how I feel

  • Read more fiction/read for fun, not always to learn facts or better myself

  • Expand my business and new mediums—keep practicing stained glass

  • Travel to at least one new national park (Do I go my southwest loop? SC/FL loop? Great Lakes region? So many routes to choose, I have 27 left to go!

  • Stay present, but don’t put so much pressure on trying to stay present, ha ha

It’s fun to find inspiration outside of nature, Picasso at the Chicago Art Institute for example. I sat on the bench for quite a while staring out at his work. This piece in particular, simplifying complex anatomy into basic shapes. Love it.
